Extremely Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Large Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1820-1825, ovoid jug with tall spout and nicely-ribbed handle, the front decorated with a large slip-trailed cobalt daisy plant with splayed leaves and spotted blossom. Heavy cobalt highlights surrounding handle terminals. Excellent decoration, color, and form. One of a very few decorated Baltimore stoneware jugs from this period known. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 11 3/4".
