One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1840, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied tab handles, decorated with two large brushed tulips on the front and reverse. Cobalt highlights to the handle terminals, and a looping line under each handle. 1 1/2" in-the-firing chip to shoulder. 2" piece of kiln furniture adhered to side. A small contact mark on reverse. Significant cracks on underside, five of which continue partway up body of jar. Shallow 1 3/4" in-the-firing contact mark to top of rim. A small in-the-firing chip above one handle.
