Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Dog Decoration, attributed to Brady & Ryan, Ellenville, NY, circa 1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a dog with spotted body and turned head, reclining atop a dashed hill flanked by shrubs. Spidering cracks on underside, one of which extends 9 1/2" up right side of crock. Spidering crack extending from rim to shoulder. 6" crack from rim. Chips on interior of rim. A few chips on exterior of rim. Minor nicks to one handle. A minor, glazed-over nick to opposite handle.
