Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar Freehand Cobalt Decoration, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES / GREENSBORO, PA," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, the shoulder decorated with freehand stripes and vining, the midsection with stenciled tulips and Hamilton & Jones maker's stenciling surrounding a stenciled flower, and the base with stenciled flourishes and a freehand "2" flanked by dashes. Chipping to bottom edge of rim. Otherwise excellent condition.
