Two Stoneware Canning Jars with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, one of cylindrical form with heavily-tooled shoulder and wax sealer, decorated with five alternating straight and wavy stripes of cobalt; the other with tooled shoulder and rounded rim with wax sealer interior, decorated with three freehand stripes. Wider jar with nicks and wear on inner wax sealer rim and two small nicks on interior of rim. Other jar with 2 1/2" chip to interior of rim and another shallow chip on interior of rim, possibly in-the-firing. H (of wider jar) 6 3/8".
