Unusual One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1865, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder, raised shoulder molding, and semi-rounded rim, the front decorated with two boldly-brushed tulips girded by two horizontal stripes. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some very faint, in-the-firing surface crazing to shoulder and rim, not visible on interior, as well as a contact mark to side of jar.
