Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1880, ovoid pitcher with footed base, tooled midsection, and semi-rounded rim molding, the front decorated with a finely-brushed tulip underscored by a stripe. Collar decorated with brushed cobalt swags. 4 3/4" and 3" restored sections flanking spout, presumably covering cracks. Some additional painted touch-up and/or restoration to spout. Heavy restoration to base, including touch-up to cobalt stripe at base. Restoration to crack in base of handle.
