Two Stoneware Jars, Philadelphia, PA origin, circa 1865, a cylindrical jar with large vertical tulip decorations on the front and back, paired with a baluster-form jar with leaf decoration on the front and back. Both jars measure approximately one-and-a-half to two gallons. Cylindrical jar with groups of tight cracks to base area, one of which extends onto underside, as well as short hairline from rim, a glazed-over rim chip and a post-firing rim chip. Baluster-form jar with long tight X-shaped crack to shoulder, a chip to exterior of rim, and a few nicks to interior of rim.
