Six-Quart Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WEST TROY / N.Y. / POTTERY," circa 1860, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of a crested bird with long tail, perched in a stylized branch. Series of flakes directly below rim on front and back. Rim chip and a shallow 1 1/2" chipped section to rim. Tiny handle chip. Flaking to interior, primarily to interior base. Small chip to bottom edge on underside.
