Glazed Redware Jar, New England origin, circa 1840, an ovoid jar with rounded foot, applied handles, and flared collar with coggled decoration, the surface decorated with heavy daubs of manganese over a lead-glazed ground. Manganese-decorated jar with several small rim chips, a tight line on underside continuing onto base, two minor base nicks, and glaze scratches at midsection. H 9 5/8".
