Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Cake Crock with Lid, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, cylindrical crock with heavily-tooled shoulder and ribbed lug handles, decorated with brushed cobalt tulips on the front and back. Paired with a fitting Remmey lid with swag decoration, which is not original to the crock, impressed "5" on underside. Restored cracks. A few small rim chips. Lid with some small chips to flange on underside.
