Scarce Large Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Cake Crock, Philadelphia, PA origin, circa 1865, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and back with two large flowers. Brushwork under handles. 5 1/2" hairline from rim and a 3" hairline from rim. 1 1/2" line at base, continuing 2" onto underside. A few small base chips. H 7 1/2" ; D 13 1/2".
