Excellent One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Heavy Cobalt Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1830, cylindrical jar with tooled foot, rounded shoulder, and squared rim, decorated on the front and back with an elaborate tulip plant design extending upward and around the sides of the jar. Outstanding decoration. Rim slumped during firing. Thin 8 1/2" crack from rim. Rim chip. H 10 1/4".
