Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Impressed Eagle and Swan Decoration, Gardiner, ME origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, decorated with impressed and highlighted design of a flying eagle with banner and a swimming swan. The use of two different designs on the same piece is somewhat unusual. 4" long in-the-firing flake off underside, along with salt drips and a small piece of kiln furniture adhered to underside. 1 3/4" flake to top of spout. H 14".
