One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, attributed to Riedinger & Caire, Poughkeepsie, NY, circa 1860, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of a fan-tailed bird perched on a branch accented with dotted trails. 5" crack from rim on front. Small chip to surface near base on front. Spots of wear to base on front. H 8 1/2".
