Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, tall collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt leaf design on two sides, as well as brushwork under each handle. Y-shaped vertical crack touching edge of decoration on one side, most of which is restored. An approximately 6" section of this crack is unrestored and extends under one handle. Rim chips. H 12 1/2".
