Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Large Cobalt Cherries Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG," circa 1865, ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a bold brushed cobalt cluster of three cherries hanging from a leafy branch. Excellent color. As-made condition with an in-the-firing contact mark on top of handle, two small glazed-over base chips, and some fry to cobalt. H 14 1/4".
