Five-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird on Stump Decoration, attributed to Brady & Ryan, Ellenville, NY, circa 1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a crested bird with paddle-shaped tail, perched on a spotted stump flanked by shrubs. A crack across underside, continuing 10" up proper right side. Traces of red paint and staining to surface. H 13 1/8".
