Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Northeastern U.S. origin, second half 19th century, a two-gallon crock with bird-on-branch decoration, Ballardvale, MA origin; paired with a one-gallon jug with stylized foliate motif, stamped "A.B. WHEELER & CO. / 69 BROAD STREET / BOSTON. MASS.," probably Fort Edward, NY origin. Jug with a few small spout chips, a small piece of adhered clay on underside, and a minor in-the-firing iron ping near base on front. Crock with several rim chips, losses to one handle, minor base chipping, and staining. H (of jug) 11 3/4".
