One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "CORTLAND," Madison Woodruff, possibly with Romanzo Smith, Cortland, NY, circa 1867-1869, squat-shaped jug with tooled shoulder and semi-squared spout, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed star-shaped floral motif. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Some light scattered exfoliation to bottom half of jug. A small spout chip. A 1 1/2" base flake on reverse. Minor staining. H 11 1/4".
