Four-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "GOTT & PALMER, / PHOENIX POTTERY / Hudson-Street, / ALBANY. N. Y," circa 1848-1850, ovoid churn with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a curved tulip with open center. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Includes a Northeastern Albany-slip-glazed churn lid. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. H (including lid) Base reglued, including two cracks ascending from break. A few small rim chips, one of which is glazed over. Lid in excellent, essentially as-made condition. H (including lid) 17 1/2".
