Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "T. CRAFTS & CO / WHATELY," MA origin, circa 1833-1848, highly ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, brush-decorated with a large floral motif at the center. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 5/8" hole in proper right side of jug at midsection. A 1 1/4" U-shaped flake to shoulder on reverse. An in-the-firing ping underneath handle. A few minor in-the-firing pings to surface. H 14".
