Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jars, Western PA origin, circa 1880, each of tapering form with rounded "wax sealer" rims, brush-decorated with three freehand stripes. Taller with staining to surface, some minor fry to cobalt, a glazed-over dent and chip to base, a minor chip to interior of rim, and a chip to inner wax sealer rim. Shorter in excellent condition with two minor in-the-firing base chips, one of which is glazed over, some in-the-firing discoloration to base area, two short, vertical surface lines at base (not visible on interior), some in-the-firing unglazed spots to inner wax sealer rim, and two minor extremely minor nicks to inner wax sealer rim. H (of taller) 8 1/2".
