Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jars, Western PA origin, circa 1870-1880, both with inner "wax sealer" rims, the smaller example brush-decorated with three stripes, the larger examples decorated with a wavy stripe between two straight stripes. Smaller jar with some light fry to cobalt, a small chip to interior of rim, and a short line to top edge of rim. Larger jar with a chip to exterior of rim, shallow chipping to interior of rim, and a minor glazed-over ping at base. H (of taller) 9".
