Exceptional Small-Sized Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Thistle, Stenciled "Greensboro", Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded wax sealer rim, featuring a crisply-stenciled thistle motif above the town name, "Greensboro.". Cobalt stripe at shoulder. Desirable size, form, and stenciled design. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, recently-discovered in Ohio. Excellent essentially as-made condition. H 6 7/8".
