Glazed Redware Churn, Galena, IL origin, second half 19th century, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, the lead-glazed surface featuring a colorful orange ground with olive mottling. A 3/4" lime ping to one side. Areas of exfoliation to exterior. A 1" chip to interior of rim. Expected wear to inner rim for lid. Two short, glazed-over surface lines to interior, not visible on exterior. Wear to edges of handles. An approximately 1" x 1" base flake. H 16 1/4".
