Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, probably Bissett Pottery, Old Bridge, NJ, circa 1810, ovoid jar with semi-rounded rim, arched tab handles, and unusual combed incising to shoulder, brush-decorated on one side with a flower in the Bissett style, and on the reverse with an abstract columnar design. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Chipping and a glazed-over flake to one handle. A large chip to opposite handle. A slight dent to shoulder on front. A small base chip on reverse. Some in-the-firing flaws to surface. H 11 1/2".
