Small-Sized Iron-Dipped Stoneware Jar, Randolph County, NC origin, probably Chester Webster, circa 1830-1840, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, grooved lug handles, and coved collar with angular rim, the surface dipped in a brownish iron slip and coated in a sporadic salt glaze. Provenance: Descended in the Craven family. A thin 3" crack from rim. Two small rim chips and a few minor rim nicks. A small in-the-firing base chip, a small post-firing base chip, and a few tiny base nicks. H 8".
