Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, ovoid jug with tapered spout, brush-decorated with a curving tulip motif. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. A few shallow rim chips, one of which is glazed over. Minor wear around midsection. A small in-the-firing ping to front. H 13 1/2".
