Iron-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "BOSTON," Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, early 19th century, ovoid jug with heavily tooled shoulder, tooled spout, and ribbed handle, featuring dipped iron oxide decoration to the upper and lower body. A 1" flake to top of spout. Other small nicks to spout. A 1" in-the-firing, glazed-over iron ping near midsection. Other lesser, typical in-the-firing flaws to surface. Some surface wear. H 12".
