Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Impressed Floral Decoration, Stamped Twice "BOSTON," Jonathan Fenton, Boston, MA, circa 1794-1797, stylishly-potted, ovoid jar with footed base, heavily-tooled upper body, narrow mouth, and open loop handles; decorated on the front and reverse with an impressed and cobalt-highlighted design of a daisy with well-detailed blossom. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Impressed at shoulder with "BOSTON" maker's mark twice, an unusual treatment. Very nice condition. Base chips, a short line at base, and small chips to interior of rim. Some typical firing imperfections to surface. H 13".
