Stoneware Canning Jar with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapering jar with tooled shoulder and pronounced, rounded "wax sealer" rim, brush-decorated with four wide stripes. A 2 1/4" X-shaped line on underside. Small, shallow chips to interior of rim and inner wax sealer rim. Minor surface wear to proper left side of jar. H 8 3/8".
