Large-Sized Stoneware Canning Jar with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapering jar with tooled shoulder and pronounced, rounded "wax sealer" rim, brush-decorated with five wide stripes. A faint 2 1/2" inverted Y-shaped line at base on front. A 3 1/2" faint horizontal line at midsection on front. Areas of surface wear to body of jar. Chips to inner wax sealer rim. H 11".
