Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Washington, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, ovoid jar with semi-rounded rim, featuring the stenciled advertising, "Jas. Hambin(?) & Son / Grocers, / Washington, Pa." Freehand stripes below rim and at base. Some wear to surface of jar and cobalt. In-the-firing surface crazing to jar's proper left side, not visible on interior. H 8 1/8".
