Rare and Fine Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Camden, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1870, tapering jar with tooled shoulder and rounded "wax sealer" rim, featuring the advertising, "From / Lysle Bailey / & Co . / Camden . / Pa .," flanked by stenciled arrowheads. Front further decorated with five freehand stripes. Rare advertising and desirable top-to-bottom cobalt application. Surface crazing throughout much of jar, not visible on interior. Some staining to surface. Interior of rim with a small chip and two minor nicks. A few very minor nicks to inner wax sealer rim. H 10 3/8".
