Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Stamped "A," attributed to Pottersville Stoneware Manufactory, Edgefield District, SC, circa 1820s-1830s, highly-ovoid jug with stepped spout, the surface coated in a two-tone alkaline glaze featuring a light gray body with striated olive runs descending from the shoulder. Proper right side of jug impressed with "A" stamp at base. A large amount of restoration to spout, primarily on spout's exterior. A small, glazed-over spout chip. A small piece of in-the-firing residue to shoulder. A few minor to small base chips. H 14 1/4".
