Rare Miniature Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug, probably Rich Williams, Gowensville Area, Greenville County, SC, late 19th or early 20th century, tapering jug with tall, flaring spout and wide strap handle, the surface covered in a dark-olive alkaline glaze over reddish clay. This work was likely made by African-American potter, Rich Williams, based on the striking similarity of the glaze and clay to a number of signed canning jars by this potter that we have sold. Exceptional size. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 3 3/4".
