Four-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar with Landrum Cross Motifs, attributed to B.F. Landrum, Horse Creek Valley, Edgefield District, SC, mid 19th century, ovoid jar with arched lug handles and flaring rim with inner flange, designed to hold a lid, the surface covered in a mottled, olive-colored alkaline glaze. Shoulder impressed with four Landrum cross motifs denoting four gallons. Provenance: Richard and Cindy Pearce Collection. Excellent condition with a minor chip and nick to proper right handle and a minor chip to proper left handle. H 15 1/2".
