Extremely Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Atlanta, GA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring the stenciled advertising, "McBRIDE & CO. / CROCKERY, / CHINA AND GLASS. / ATLANTA. / GA," accented with foliate motifs. Freehand stripe decoration to shoulder and at base. The first example of Western Pennsylvania stoneware made for the Atlanta market that we have offered. Very nice condition. A 2" line on underside, extending 1 3/8" up base. Some light surface wear and light staining. H 10 1/4".
