Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Henry Harrison Remmey or Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, ovoid pitcher with heavily-tooled collar and semi-rounded rim, brush-decorated with two-stemmed flowering plant ascending the front. Swag decoration to spout and collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Two spout chips, partially covered with varnish glue. A 1 3/8" flake to rim, partially covered with glue. A 3 1/4" line descending from rim on reverse, including a minor rim chip on interior. Base chips, covered with varnish. Staining to base and a spot of staining to front. Heavy surface crazing to underside, not visible on interior. H 10 3/4".
