Fine Stoneware Jug with Incised Floral Decoration, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / MANHATTAN-WELLS / NEW-YORK," early 19th century, highly-ovoid jug with heavily-tooled shoulder, coved spout molding, and footed base, decorated at the shoulder with an incised design of a flower bud with circular detail at center, emanating from a group of splayed leaves. Brushed cobalt border around maker's mark below. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Heavy chipping to base. A glazed-over spout chip. A 1" line at base on front. Some slightly-recessed areas at base. H 13 1/2".
