One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / NEW-YORK," circa 1820, highly-ovoid jug with footed base, heavily-tooled neck, and rounded spout, brush-decorated with a drape motif at the shoulder. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Impressed with C. Crolius maker's mark within an oval border at shoulder. Very nice condition with small chips to bottom edge and an in-the-firing contact mark to shoulder. H 11 1/2".
