Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Flowering Urn Decoration, Stamped "WM E. WARNER. / WEST TROY," NY State origin, mid 19th century, tapering jar with tooled shoulder, flared collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a stylized slip-trailed flowering plant with scrolled leaves, emanating from a spotted urn. Brushed cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Rim chips. Chipping and wear to inner rim for lid. A thin 2 3/4" crack from rim on front. A 4" crack from rim on reverse. A small chip to proper right handle. Light wear to cobalt. A few minor in-the-firing surface flaws. H 10 7/8".
