One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "J. NORTON & CO / BENNINGTON VT;" circa 1860, cylindrical jug with tapered spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with an old code written in red crayon on underside. H 13 1/4".
