Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX, / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, semi-ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and tapered spout, brush-decorated with a blossom composed of graduated daubs, hanging from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. Provenance: Herb and Carol Hausmann Collection. As-made condition with some in-the-firing contact marks near base and staining to surface. H 15".
