Four-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "SAM'L. I. IRVINE, / NEWVILLE, PA.," circa 1865, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, brush-decorated flowering vine featuring three elongated blossoms and delicate leaves. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. A 7/8" chip to side of spout. Two minor chips to front of spout. Two small chips to interior of spout. A minor lime ping to handle. Minor surface wear. H 16 1/2".
