Very Rare Glazed Redware Soap Dish, Stamped "JOHN BELL," Waynesboro, PA, circa 1840-1880, oval form with flared walls, the exterior decorated with manganese sponging, the entire surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Underside impressed with John Bell maker's mark and incised with three small slash marks. One of only a few examples of this form by John Bell that we have offered. Excellent condition with a small rim chip. L 5 3/4" ; H 2".
