Fine Large-Sized Redware Loaf Dish with Elaborate Slip Decoration, PA origin, early to mid 19th century, oval form with coggled edge, the interior lavishly-decorated in slip-trailed yellow slip with alternating wavy trails and groups of dashes. Desirable size with excellent coverage of decoration over the dish's surface. Chips and wear to edge. A 3 1/4" crack at one corner. Otherwise excellent condition, the interior surviving in a remarkable state of preservation. Dimensions: 17 3/4" x 12".
