Two Ceramic Spittoons, American, second half 19th century, a stoneware example with spattered manganese over a Bristol-slip ground, paired with a glazed redware example with manganese stripes. Stoneware spittoon with a base chip, a crack extending from the opening in top, and minor nicks to both openings. Redware example with a 1 1/4" chip to underside at edge, other smaller base chips, and wear to top edge and opening at shoulder. Dimensions (of smaller spittoon): Diam. 7 1/4" x H 3 1/4".
