Salt-Glazed Stoneware Pig Bottle with Cobalt Inscription, Midwestern origin, late 19th century, molded in the form of a reclining pig with spout at rear, applied tail, and molded facial features including raised teeth. Stenciled in cobalt across the body "OLD RYE / IN A," along with a stenciled cobalt hand pointing at the rear of the pig. Near mint condition. 1/2" faint line in spout, which probably occurred in the firing. Length 8 1/2".
